World of Maths (Years 5 and 6)

Our Year 5 and 6 students had a blast on Thursday during their World of Maths incursion! 

They engaged  with a huge range of hand-made hands on and fun learning through real-life examples, needing to understand instructions and apply problem-solving skills. Hands-on activities have many benefits for students. And it’s not just about reinforcing maths concepts. Lots of visible engagement and participation, positive thinking and opportunities to feel rewarded through their achievements and giving the challenges a go! 

Our mathematicians had to :

• Work collaboratively and communicate effectively with their group members.
• Think creatively and outside the box when brainstorming solutions.
• Be willing to experiment and try different approaches until they found the best solution.
• Stay organised and manage your time effectively to ensure that they completed the task or project on time.
• Discuss strategies and problem solving skills.
