PRINCIPALS MESSAGE
Dear Parents, Carers and Friends,
This week our teachers conducted Meet and Greets with parents to begin building strong and positive relationships with families and students. Parents are always very welcome to meet with teachers throughout the year so please do not feel as though you need to wait for the more formalised meetings held annually. Teachers are also very willing to speak to parents over the phone. If you would like to meet with your child’s teacher, please phone or email the school office for an appointment.
Mrs Kate Jennett and I are also willing to meet with parents if you have a concern about your child. Once again, please contact the school office to arrange a time.
Catholic Schools Week
We will be celebrating Catholic Schools Week in Week 6, 2 March - 5 March. The flyer advertising the events to be held will be sent home with students today. Catholic Schools Week is an opportunity for our school community to come together and give thanks for everything we have at Holy Cross.
On the first day of Catholic Schools Week, Monday 2 March, we will be launching the Diocesan Parent-School Partnership Framework. The framework acknowledges parents as the first primary educators of their children and is underpinned by the importance of genuine partnerships between home, school and parish.
This framework has been developed to support the creation and maintenance of the partnership between parents and school so that together we can create:
- Identifiably Catholic communities, inspired by the person and teaching of Jesus Christ, where all strive to act with hope, integrity, justice and compassion;
- Effective schools which improve outcomes for students.
All parents, friends and families are welcome to join with us in the Library after the Monday morning assembly, 2 March, for a cuppa as we share the framework and discuss its significance to our school community.
We look forward to seeing you during Catholic Schools Week.
Kind regards
Mrs Kaylene Duffin
Principal
