CEDoW Social Media Policy Launch
Yesterday all families received a Compass alert regarding the CEDoW Media Policy. This is an important policy and I encourage parents to take the time to read. If you have any questions about this, please contact me.
Seesaw
Holy Cross use the app Seesaw, to share student learning and the happenings of our school. Beginning in Week 5, students will be sharing their work with families and reflecting on their learning in Mathematics and English. This will be an ongoing opportunity to be involved in school life for parents/carers. Please keep an eye out for these posts to enjoy seeing student work samples. As this is a student sharing platform only, we ask that any questions or comments be made to the office should you wish to speak to a teacher.
Zoom Assemblies
Holy Cross will be hosting, in class, zoom assemblies in Weeks 5 and 10 of this term. Parents are invited to join us and be part of the online platform and celebrate the awards with us. If you have never used zoom before and would like to be part of our audience, you may wish to view the short tutorial using the link below. A link to the assemblies will be sent to you through Compass on the day of the assembly or you can click on the assembly links below.

When joining our assemblies please ensure the following zoom protocols are followed;
- Use the school code/link to join the Zoom Assembly

Gardening Club In Pyjamas!
It might have been pyjama day last Thursday but that did not stop us gardening!
Kindergarten were given a surprise first thing in the morning when I turned up with a bread-maker! The lesson revolved around “the needs of animals” and our investigation involved looking at yeast. First we explored what animals need and then applied this knowledge to yeast, what they need and their role in bread. With the smell of baking bread spreading throughout the infants, there was definitely some very envious Year 1 and 2 teachers and students! Of course the best part of all was our Kinders trying warm freshly cooked bread and as an added element, Rod brought in a basic store bought white sliced bread so the Kinders could compare the taste. There were definitely many requests for seconds and thirds!!!
Lunchtime Gardening Club members were given the choice of tasks: moving mulch from one side of the school to The Patch (which proved a VERY popular activity) or working in The Patch, digging out one of our gardens, snail removal (we have lots of them at the moment) or Weed Attack!
