Prayer at Holy Cross
Last Week we presented each student with their own 'Prayer Journal.' This Prayer Journal will be used in class in many ways, including, to reflect on a prayer, to record prayers, to meditate after prayer...... just to name a few! This week, the Staff used their Prayer Journals to reflect on the Holy Cross. Year 6 also reflected on what the Holy Cross means to them and mindfully decorated their own Crosses.
'The Holy Cross reminds me that Jesus loves me and when I pray he is always there listening' Heidi Yr 6
'The Cross reminds me of being cleansed of our sins and when I see the Cross I think about communicating through prayer to my loved ones.' Molly Yr 6
'The Cross reminds me of new life' Flynn Yr 6
'I see the Cross as a sacred symbol of faith. I think about new life and peace when I see the Cross' Ace Yr 6
National Child Protection Week
This week is National Child Protection Week and the theme is Putting Children First.
Child Protection Week provides the opportunity to recognise and affirm our students and we are reminded that Pope Francis has spoken about how, dear children … with open, generous hearts can change the world. …
Child Protection Week provides the opportunity to recognise and affirm each and every member of our school community who offers care and concern to our students; and the many people who make extraordinary efforts in the pastoral care and support of our students, their safety and wellbeing.
This week, our Year 3-6 students participated in a virtual lesson about online safety which included safe information and who to trust online and our K-2 students participated in a seesaw activity based on recognising the people who care for them at school and home.
