GRANDPARENTS DAY

IMG_0496.JPG

What a wonderful day to celebrate together. All students attended this day wearing a tribute to their grandparents. This day was set aside to show our appreciation for everything our grandparents do for us and acknowledge that their love for us is everlasting. We had a great assembly and loved sharing our prayers and photos of the day. You can view the messages and images from our day by clicking on the links below or typing it into your search engine.

GARDENING CLUB – Planting, Habitat Design…and Farewell!

Year 2

Week 4 and 5 was all about a research and design project – and all I can say is WOW! Rod gave a well-received case study on the Red Crown Toadlet which provided a framework for their research. Year 2 were paired up and exceeded all expectation for their projects of designing a habitat for a local native animal. We had ‘make and build’ designs for tunnels under the road for koalas, frog ponds, native bee hives, nests and hollows, and each student could articulate their reasoning for their design based on their research – Rod and I were just blown away with Year 2's creativity. Sadly Week 5 was also our last week with Year 2 but we are looking forward to working with Year 1 next week.

Lunchtime Gardening Club

Week 4 and 5 were all about planting – potatoes were voted to go in again, corn and pumpkin seeds were planted and 3 types of basil were planted. There was also some weeding to be done since we had rain and with the warm weather, the weeds and grass have decided to take up residence in the garden beds. As Macie said, “I think we need to do some Weed Attack Mrs Murray!” Look out weeds – we’re coming for you!!!

Stay tuned to see what we get up to next!
