Meet and Greet Meetings

To help develop strong partnerships between parents and teachers, we are hosting face to face Meet and Greet meetings in Week 8. This is an important opportunity for you to share pertinent information about your child with his/her teacher. Your insights into how your child learns and socialises with others can help the teacher get to know your child quickly whilst building a relationship with you. Bookings will be made via the Compass Parent Portal. Parents will be notified once the booking system has been set up.

We strongly encourage parents to make contact with teachers at any time throughout the year. Teachers are only too willing to meet with you or return phone calls. If you would like to arrange a time to meet with a teacher, please contact the school office.

Device Roll out on Year 3

This week Year 3 started their journey with new managed iPads. There was a real buzz and excitement as the Year 3 students placed their iPads on the desk and set up their Apple ID's and Apps to use. Details of all passwords and usernames will be sent home to parents for safe keeping soon.

It has been 6 years since we started the 1:1 iPad program and it has been amazing to see the growth and development for all. (families, staff and students included)
At Holy Cross we take Digital Citizenship and Cyber Safety seriously and to have devices in classes not only supports learning and teaching but provides many opportunities to deliver and establish a technological aware community for the future.

We certainly thank our parents and community for supporting technology and learning at Holy Cross and look forward to sharing our achievements in 2022.

NCCD

The Nationally Consistent Collection of Data on School Students with Disability (NCCD) takes place every year. All schools in Australia must collect information about students with disability. The NCCD is a collection that counts:

  • the number of school students receiving an adjustment or ‘help’ due to disability
  • the level of adjustment they are receiving to access education on the same basis as other students.

The 2022 NCCD process has commenced. Further information is attached for your information.
