PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Dear parents and friends of Holy Cross,
A warm welcome back to everyone as we begin a new term. It has been terrific to see the children back at school ready and eager to learn.
It was a real joy and pleasure for me to participate in this year's Helensburgh ANZAC Day service along with Mrs Jennett and many students and families. The tradition of this day is one that is deeply embedded within the consciousness of many Australians and is in many ways foundational as to how we view ourselves as a nation.
This day when we honour the selfless contributions of so many who have gone before us provides an opportunity where the national values of our country can be unashamedly expressed. Within all this, while the heroic deeds of many are recalled, war is never glorified and peace is always held up as the ultimate goal.
Our school captains, Maddie, Ada and Daniel, presented a wreath in honour of those brave ANZACs who paid the ultimate price as they fought for peace. Tilly Donnan received the ANZAC Award presented to a Year 6 student for demonstrating ANZAC values. Congratulations, Tilly.
We warmly welcome Bobby in Kindergarten and Leni in Year 1 and their family to Holy Cross.
Wishing everyone well and thanking you for your support of Holy Cross.
God Bless,
Kaylene
