World Environment Day 2019 Liturgy - Clearing the Air

On 5 June we celebrated World Environment Day. This year’s theme was ‘Clearing the Air’. World Environment Day is a day for everyone around the world to take ownership of their environment and to actively engage in the protection of our earth. World Environment Day 2019 urges governments, industry, communities, and individuals to come together to explore renewable energy and green technologies, and improve air quality in cities and regions across the world.

The Stage 2 Prayer Leaders wore masks to stress the need for everyone to combat air pollution. Each class received a little pouch of seeds to plant at school or at home.

In Laudato Si, Pope Francis calls us to remember that we do not abuse or take for granted that which God has gifted us.
