Scripture Focus

Next week, our Scripture focus comes from the Gospel of Matthew, reminding us of the imperative to aid the less fortunate. This directly aligns with our Vinnies Winter Appeal. Your generous donations over the next week would be greatly appreciated.(Envelopes can be collected from the office - cash donations in envelopes will go directly to helping people in our local community). You can also donate online on the following website https://donate.vinnies.org.au/appeals-nsw/winter-appeal-nsw The Parish also has a collection basket in the foyer for any donations you would like to make of new blankets or food items.

Additionally, we have designated next Wednesday 3 July as a Pyjama day. Students can wear their PJs in exchange for donations towards the appeal. Thank you for your support in making a difference.

Matthew 25: 35-36

For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.”

First Holy Communion

Tonight we have our final preparation evening with Father Paul in the Parish Hall at 6pm. The students will also be having a First Holy Communion retreat day in the Parish hall on 28 June along with other students from our local state schools..

First Holy Communion Mass will be on this Sunday 30 June at 10.00am. Please keep these students in your prayers, particularly, this week.

Diocesan Year 4 Religious Literacy Assessment

Across our Diocese, all Year 4 students will complete the annual Religious Literacy Assessment in Term 3. They will have the opportunity to do the Practice Assessment in the first week of Term 3, and the actual assessment on Monday 5 August 2024.

The concept of 'religious literacy' is the basis for the framework for assessment in Religious Education in Wollongong across K-6. To be religiously literate, children leaving a Catholic primary school need to be able to communicate with and be at home in Catholic society and religion in general. The assessment of religious literacy focuses on students’ knowledge and understanding of the key concepts that are being addressed by the Religious Education program and the children’s ability to communicate with their religious tradition.

In Peace,

Mrs Debbie Turton
