SPOTLIGHT ON LEARNING

Year 2 Excursion to the Wollongong Botanical Gardens

On Wednesday 19 June, Year 2 went on a wonderful excursion to the Wollongong Botanical Gardens. The students engaged in hands-on activities to learn all about living things and their adaptations to their natural environment. We even put some of our learnings to the test by designing and making bird feeders for our playground this week too. Our guide and volunteer guides commented on the beautiful manners of our Year 2 students, which made their teacher and Mrs Colussi very very proud! We had a terrific day of learning. We could not have asked for better weather!

Year 1

In Writing, Year 1 have been learning to create short imaginative poems with different text structures and language features so that they can compose poetry using technology to engage an audience. Year 1 have been creating different types of poetry that include adjectives, alliteration, rhyming words and onomatopoeia. We have written poems about carnivals, published them and will be using the app clips on our ipads to create a foley (soundscape) using these poems we have written as our final Science design and make project in the next two weeks. These foleys will be presented on Seesaw for our parents to watch.

Year 3 are in the process of making their own tjanpi (weaving artworks.)
