SOCIAL MEDIA
Social media is used in Catholic Education Diocese of Wollongong (CEDoW) to help create vibrant Catholic school communities of faith and learning. In this context, social media is any form of online presence used in valid educational contexts that facilitates inclusive relationships, contemporary communities and multi-directional interactive exchange of information, conversation or activity. Users of social media are required to manage their digital footprint by interacting responsibly and ethically, in line with our Catholic ethos, respecting the dignity of all involved.
With this in mind, Holy Cross will be exploring several of the Social Media Standards this Semester. CEDoW encourages the use of social media for open and productive dialogue. When using social media it is expected that individuals will respect the dignity of self and others in the context of their role.
Messages sent to students using Messages on an iPad during school hours.
Whilst in school hours there is an expectation to have notifications turned off on Apps that are not school learning Apps.
Some students have recently received messages from parents about pick up / drop off arrangements via the Message App. Please respect the dignity of self and others in the context of their role by contacting our office by phone or email should your pick up / drop off arrangements change.

MBOT Challenge
Last Tuesday night our Mbot Team of Luca, Joshua, Emma, Sommer and Elena competed in the Mbot finals. Their challenge was to select a pathway from 3 separate starting positions and exit the maze in the quickest time. All students have been involved in coding on iPads at school and this was an opportunity to work collaboratively in a competitive environment.
Congratulations Emma, Sommer and Elena for placing 3rd in the competition.
