Dear Parents, Carers and Friends,
Thank you to everyone who helped make this Catholic Schools Week so special.
Our community came together on several occasions to celebrate our beautiful school and in particular, share and celebrate in our students’ learning and school life.
We asked some of our Yr 5 students What Makes Holy Cross a Great Catholic School?
When I was arriving to school this morning, I saw one of my class mates helping a kindy student. He was carrying her bag and she was looking up at him. When I saw that, I thought straight away, ‘Now I understand why our teachers are so proud of us’. I am very proud of my school too. Kitty
When I came into Kindergarten I felt like I didn’t fit in because I didn't know anybody but then my teachers and my buddy helped me to fit in and they have helped me to become who I am today. Lenny
The teachers make learning really fun. They respect you just as you are - and even if you are good or bad at something, they will always help you to succeed. Dominic
As soon as I joined Holy Cross in Year 3, I saw so many new opportunities for learning and I felt like I was really helped to improve my learning. The staff and students made me feel very welcome. Matthew
When I was in Kindergarten I felt like I didn’t fit in at lunch times, but then my kindergarten friends came up and asked me to play and they were all very kind. Izzy

Parent - School Partnership Framework
"We must take note of the changes that have affected both the family and the school, and renew the commitment to constructive collaboration - for the benefit of children and young people" - Pope Francis.
On Monday we officially launched the Diocesan Parent-School Partnership Framework at Holy Cross. Thank you to the parents who came along to the launch and for sharing their insights into what we are currently doing very well at Holy Cross and identifying areas we can work on together to improve our partnership. The Framework can be downloaded from the Catholic Education Website and this link:

FETE
Our Fete is fast approaching and our students are becoming very excited. There are still a number of volunteers needed to help out on the day. If parents could set aside an hour or so to man a stall we would be very grateful. Please inform the school office.
Please note, the canteen will be closed for Lunch 2, next Friday due to Fete preparations.

2021 Kindergarten Enrolment Forms are now available from the school office. You may also access the forms from our school website or by clicking on the link below. All applications need to be received by Thursday, April 9 2020.

Easter Hat Parade
You are invited to join us for our school Easter Hat Parade on Wednesday 8 April at 2pm.
Students are asked to make their own Easter Hat at home and bring them to school on the Wednesday.
We look forward to seeing your creations.
Holy Week Events
Holy Week is a very sacred time of the year where the Catholic Church remembers the last week of Jesus’ life on earth.

This year the students will take time to follow the last days of Jesus’ life on Thursday 9 April with a range of activities to remember Palm Sunday, the Washing of Feet, the Last Supper and Good Friday.
You are invited to join in these Holy Week activities with Years 3-6 participating from 11:40-1:10 and Kinder–Year 2 participating from 1:40-3:10.

A message from Catholic Education Diocese of Wollongong for Catholic Schools Week 2020
Dear students, families and school communities,
Thank you for your school's participation in Catholic Schools Week from 1-7 March. It's a wonderful opportunity to celebrate and showcase many of the fantastic things happening in your school every day, and in all our Catholic schools across the Diocese of Wollongong.
We thank you for working together in partnership with us to help make your school community such a vibrant, nurturing place of learning, faith, belonging and hope.
If you or a family member or friend would like to enrol your child in one of our schools, please download an enrolment package here.
Have a look at our Catholic Schools Week video below, celebrating what our students across the diocese love about their Catholic school. Can you spot the students from your school?
Please Help
We have had a disappointing response to calls for help with our fete so far this year. With just over a week to go, we are really struggling to have enough people to run the stalls.
If you are able to give an hour or two of your time, PLEASE fill in your name on the chart on the office door or get in touch with us and we can fill in a slot for you.
Monies raised at previous fetes have been used to purchase air conditioning, iPads for K-2, Reading Eggs and iMaths subscriptions, and much, much more.
The fete simply cannot work without the involvement of our parents. Please get on board and lend a hand.
Thank you.
Mrs Lorraine Ashley
